GET INVOLVED IN BAF Last year's first ever Buxton Adventure Festival was a great success. 800 people came to hear ten inspiring speakers and watch adventure films brought to life on the big screen.
We're proud that feedback from last year's visitors showed:
The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival - now in its 8th year - is going from strength to strength with ticket sales having trebled in the last 3 years. We'd love to build BAF into an equally amazing event. Sponsor Buxton Adventure Festival Dr Peter Dewhurst, Strategic Director for the University of Derby Buxton, said: ?The first ever Buxton Adventure Festival was a real triumph for the town." ?We were delighted to play such a large part - as a key sponsor and the host of its opening event at our Oaklands Manor Outdoor Leadership Centre ? and the partnership generated some fantastic publicity for our new centre and our degree programmes in Outdoor, Adventure and Countryside Management. We were also extremely pleased that the organisers provided our Events and Outdoor students with some outstanding real world learning opportunities that not only helped to enhance the Festival but also served to enhance our students? employability skills." ?We are proud to be on board again for this year?s festival, and look forward to welcoming even more visitors to hear from some great speakers ? and see what Buxton has to offer for outdoor enthusiasts - this November.? "I?m delighted it went so well. Lissa did a sterling job with all the fantastic PR. I look forward to more details and photos and yes, let?s all get together at some point and discuss next year. Many thanks." Nikki Skinner, Marketing Manager, EquipUK
We're always on the look out for inspirational, entertaining speakers for both BAF & ShAFF. If you've achieved amazing feats, then tell us about them. Matt Heason has a comprehensive portfolio of some of the world's best 'Serious Adventure Speakers' on his books, including Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Volunteer at the Buxton Adventure Festival We're committed to giving volunteers meaningful work experience at BAF. It won't be glamarous but we hope it's always fun and we're always willing to give testimonials and references to volunteers who work for us. Exhibit at the Buxton Adventure Festival As a young festival we're keen to be realistic about what we can offer exhibitors. This year's ShAFF exhibition space attracted 3,000 people. Set in the Pavilion Gardens, the Arts Centre has a heavy footfall of visitors at the weekend. |
