Last weekend saw us at the first ever Buxton Adventure Festival, the latest venture from Heason Events and sponsored by the University of Derby. In a little over 6 months the festival had gone from a fledgling idea to a runaway success with a 3-year headline sponsor in place, auspicious launch together with the opening of Oaklands Manor and the support of hundreds of satisfied visitors. With 10 top speakers and 30 films compressed into 2 days the action was non-stop, covering everything from wild swimming to cave diving and featuring a 2012 Paralympian and award nominated author amongst its speakers.  Read the rest of the article on MyOutdoorsUK...

17 year old Maddie Thompson talks to the Buxton Advertiser ahead of her appearance at BAF on Saturday 20th October (10.30am) as part of our special Young Adventurers' programme.  Maddie talks about playing wheelchair basketball for Team GB at the Paralympics, how she copes with training and school work and how attitudes to disability are changing.

British downhill star Danny Hart was unable to defend his world championship title this year after a dislocating his shoulder in a crash at Crankworx Les Deux Aples in July. The Giant-sponsored 21-year-old from Redcar spoke to Nik Cook about that crash, his rehabilitation and the day he became world champion. 

Danny Hart will be appearing at the Buxton Adventure Festival on Sunday October 21 where he will be interviewed by The Cycle Show presenter Anna Glowinski. The interview will be followed by a showing of freeride movie Where The Trail Ends.  Read the interview on BikeMagic.
