About lissacookPR

The philosophy behind lissacookPR is to work with not just for my clients.  My approach is no nonsense and down-to-earth.  My experience is unashamedly eclectic.

I've worked as a political press officer cutting my teeth in Westminster, going on to produce BBC Radio 4's flagship news programmes The World at One and PM, then documentaries and investigative reports.

Seeking respite from life as a news junkie I took a career break and set up my own small business from scratch designing and handmaking childrenswear.  Its success has brought me full circle.

lissacookPR is not an agency.  I'm fortunate enough to work on a few select projects.

That allows me to work from home in the glorious Peak District, run my childrenswear business, work as a freelance journalist and indulge my passion for social media.  If you need a big budget agency with marketing experience keep googling.

If you want friendly, honest advice from someone who understands the challenge of running a business in a recession, has national and local journalistic experience in both broadcast and written press with a proven track record of getting coverage, then I might just be who you're looking for.

PS My other half is Mr Cook who you can see interviewing Annie Last on Saturday night.  Feel free to buy his book...
