Buxton Adventure Festival announces line-up

28th Nov 2016

THE line-up of adventurous entertainment has been announced by the Buxton Adventure Festival – following a successful first year in the new monthly format.

Headline speakers include ultrarunners Jasmin Paris and Sean Conway, pioneering mountaineers Mick Fowler and Eric Jones, and author Richard Askwith telling the inspiring story of 1940/50s endurance running phenom Emil Zátopek.

BAF Director Matt Heason says he plans to build on the success of the first year by bringing a raft of new, leading adventurers to the heart of the Peak District.

He said: “We switched BAF from a single weekend event to 10 mini-festivals throughout the year to give each of our amazing speakers deserved headline slots and to provide more opportunities for people to attend.

“It has proved a huge success, with great audiences at each of our events throughout 2016, so it’s a format we want to continue with and build upon. We have a great line-up for the first half of already, with more to be announced over the coming months.

“I’d like to thank those who have supported BAF by coming along to one or more events throughout the year and also our sponsors – Derby University, Buxton Opera House, Buxton Advertiser, Old Hall Hotel and Heason Events. Without them we wouldn’t be able to bring these entertaining and inspiring speakers to the area.”

Tickets are now on sale for the following events, all taking place at the Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton Opera House, in Buxton:
