Fundraising for SAYLs a great Success
2nd Apr 2012
Everyone at the Sheffield Academy of Young Leaders would like to thank SHAFF for allowing us to raise money that will help us go to the London 2012 Olympic Games as Volunteers. We would also like to thank everyone that donated towards our cause; it was great to receive so much support from people attending the festival. With the generous contributions that were made by people attending SHAFF, we managed to raise over £200! This money will be put towards the cost of travel, accommodation and catering of a two week stay in London, where a Team of 18 Young People from SAYLs will be volunteering as Courtside assistants at the Olympic Volleyball. SAYLs is a registered charity that aims to improve future prospects, cohesion and skill sets amongst Young People in Sheffield through offering exciting and meaningful volunteering opportunities. Through the hard work of staff and our members we have been able to secure the honour of volunteering at the London 2012 Olympic Games but are now faced with the challenge of raising the money to cover the cost of the trip. We still have a long way to go before our dream of going to the Games can become a reality but now because of the help of the organisers and all that attended SHAFF we are one step closer to stepping out onto the Volleyball Court at 2012. Thank you!
