This has quickly become a popular event in the local calendar and this year will feature a mix of award winning films, lectures and activities as well as a mini filmmaking competition, art exhibition, the ‘famous’ HVAFF raffle and of course great food and beer.

HVAFF is a fund raising event, with all profits used to improving facilities at Hope Valley College.

During the day, the films will include selections from the ‘Best of ShAFF’ and the ‘Best of Kendal’ as well as the exciting and fast moving ‘Kendal Shorts’ and ‘ShAFF Shorts’ taken from the best films at the UK’s biggest adventure film festivals. The activities will include indoor caving, bouldering and slacklines.

A major attraction is the evening lecture by ex-Wales rugby international turned mountaineer Richard Parks, who climbed the highest mountain on each of the seven continents and skied the last degree to both the North and South Poles, all within seven months.
