11th Jan 2012

Check out award-winning film-maker Al Lee's fabulous trailer for this year's Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.

Alastair Lee's adventure film hits (Posing Productions) include 'On Sight' which won the prestigious Grand Prize and Best Climbing film at the 2008 Kendal Mountain Film Festival. In 2009 Alastair teamed up with top climber Leo Houlding on his most ambitious film to date 'The Asgard Project' which has won numerous international awards.  Last year Al's film of the culimintion of Leo's decade long-obsession to crack a new route up El Capitan's exceptionally steep, loose and difficult east face won him ShAFF 2011's Best Climbing Film award.

Festival Director Matt Heason says:  "We're chuffed to bits that he's once again agreed to make our promo trailer.  Last year's video has already got more than 28,000 hits.  ShAFF is also over the moon to have partnered up with Patagonia as Presenting Sponsor for the 2012 festival. It’s the first time that the festival has had a presenting sponsor, and reflects its growing status as a major international adventure film festival. Patagonia have a very well respected place within the adventure community and ShAFF is proud to be working with them."  (Click here for full list of festival sponsors)

"And a big thank you to local Sheffield band Hey Sholay for letting us use their brilliant song 'Wishbone' as the soundtrack to the festival trailer.  Check out more of their music on the Hey Sholay My Space page or follow them on facebook.  Read Sheffield Telegraph Adelle Draper's rave review of a recent gig.  The band are tipped as one of 2012's must-see acts."
